Plucked from my towering TBR list: The Great Man, a novel (by Kate Christensen) I just finished and thoroughly enjoyed. Little in the way of exposition, and lots of dialogue--- strong dialogue. Here's an excerpt. Btw, The Great Man won the 2008 PEN/Faulkner Award for fiction.
Also, my Netflix queu is one shorter. Lars and the Real Girl arrived and we watched it tonight. The "real girl" is one of those blow-up sex dolls you can order over the internet. But it's not that kind of movie--it's PG-13 (but definitely for adults). Quirky--that overused adjective is useful here. Oddly fulfillin
